This trek combines nearby desolate islands (Goli Otok and Prvić) and visit to the shelter of griffons. It starts from Sv. Juraj to the Griffon centre (5-minute drive). There you will learn about these wonderful predatory birds and have a chance to see them in the centre. Afterwards we will take a boat from Sv. Juraj to the Prvić Island (around 15-minute ride). There you will get to see and photograph griffon vultures in their natural habitat. At the same time, you might see other bird species as well. After a roundtrip around the island and optional trek on the island itself, we will take you to a nearby island, Goli Otok (around 15-minute ride), which is notorious for being a political prison during the communist era. There we can have lunch and visit some of the sights on the island. The trek ends with a boat ride to Sv. Juraj (around 30-minute ride).

  • Visit a new shelter for Griffon vultures managed by the Birds of Prey Conservation Centre
  • Enjoy swimming and the time of leisure on the desolate island of Prvić which is a natural habitat for griffon vultures
  • Visiting the island of Goli Otok, Croatian Alcatraz
